"I think everybody should write poetry. I do. I have friends who say, 'The only people who read poetry are people who write it.' I think, 'Well, of course. And everybody should be writing poems, right?'"
- Li-Young Lee in A God in the House
1. Read (or listen to) some of Li-Young Lee's poems.
2. Write a poem. You don't need to keep it. Scratch it out on your sandwich wrapper then throw the paper away. But write one for the sake of it.
